Legendary Sheffield label Warp has announced a rip-roaring, barnstorming birthday celebration in the city of its birth, continuing the festivities around the world during the year of its 20th anniversary.
At Warp20 (Sheffield), events will take place across two landmarks in the city, one being an all-nighter in the wonderous (so we're told...) Q-Park in the city centre with the other being a cinema event, which is free, taking place at the Park Hill Flats. Those very flats areis currently being given a pretty full-on refurb by English Heritage and Urbansplash but we don't think they'll be any builders or plumbers to negotiate at the time, though.
At the cinema event will be the English Premiere of the All Tomorrow Parties movie, whilst at night at the Q-Park Tom Jenkinson, AKA Squarepusher, is playing live on his bass geetar and DJing, with the reunited Nightmares On Wax and Andrew Weatherall also on the bill.
As we told and showed you previously, there's a whole list of events and happenings as long as your arm with which Warp are involved in to mark its 20th birthday, including that lovely, lovely box set.
As well as that packaged, hard, goodness there has been - and indeed will be - events around the world including possible shows in Tokyo and London later in the year as well as a confirmed event in NYC, a brief summary of which is listed below:
