Wilco tour Europe for forthcoming untitled album, release DVD
JoeDiddly by Luke Slater April 17th, 2009

American alt.country legends Wilco are set to tour Europe this summer, in support of their as yet untitled seventh studio album as well as releasing a live DVD, Ashes of American Flags, on April 18.

Touring the follow-up to 2007's Sky Blue Sky the guys will be starting off in Norway before hitting these shores in August, playing the Green Man Festival on August 23, and London's Troxy on August 25.

Green Man tickets are available from here and tickets for the London date from SeeTickets and Troxy. You can do it on the ol' dog 'n' bone, too: 0871 230 5595.

Wilco's label, Nonesuch, will release the DVD this Saturday as part of Record Store Day, as well as on Wilco World and Nonesuch.com, before going on general sale on Monday, April 20.

The concert DVD is made up of performances from five venues - Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, Tipitina’s in New Orleans, The Mobile Civic Center, The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. - and is directed by Brendan Canty and Christoph Green.

To go alongside the release of the DVD, C4 will show 30 minutes worth of footage from Ashes of American Flags on April 24.
