My favourite band(sorry), whose debut album looks set to enter the charts at number two this week, spoke out during an interview with a UK tabloid.
Lead singer, the slightly mopey James Walsh, claimed that Starsailor, along with bands like Travis, were "part of something big" and admitted that he was "not overly keen on pop music".
Walsh also complained about comments from pop band such as Westlife who, he claims, had compared their importance to that of The Beach Boys.
"If they are going to make comments like that, they should go away for five years, write songs like that and then come back."
"They shouldn't start thinking that because they are in hotel rooms and everyone's waiting on them hand and foot, they must be good."
Speaking about his own music, Walsh added: "People accuse us of being naïand hippyish, but I think that's part of our appeal. We write about feelings."
"We just put it out as it is."
Nuff Said.
