A statement has been issued, blaming the "horrendous events in America" for the cancellation.
The statement reads: "Due to the horrendous events in America we have had to cancel our Farm Aid concert in Cardiff. Everyone's thoughts will be, for a long time, directed towards the terrible loss of life and the consequences that will bring to many thousands of people.
"Unfortunately the Foot and Mouth disease refuses to die and farmers will suffer hardship and have to cope with the winter ahead with very gloomy prospects."
The Farm Aid show was intended to be a fundraiser for farmers and communities affected by the Foot & Mouth epidemic. Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis, himself a farmer, was the man behind the show.
