Wonderful news everyone; George Michael isn't going to prison.
After arriving at Brent Magistrates Court in London this morning, the singer was spared a custodial sentence for driving offences.
As is the penchant for a legal system with a keen eye for celebrity humiliation, Michael was instead ordered to perform 100 hours community service. He was also banned from driving for two years.
The charges relate to an incident dating from last autumn, when the former Wham! man was found slumped at the wheel of his ride in the early hours of the 1st of October.
Michael was sorry: "I was ashamed I had done something really wrong in putting other people at risk."
The ruling means that the singer's shows at Wembley Stadium this weekend can now go ahead as planned. Anyone else going?
