This Saturday (2nd June) sees this year's Summer Party Festival go off like a big bang.

Held on the Nottingham University Downs, which is a large green area on the main campus, the Summer Party was started around five years ago by local promoters Firefly. It has grown to be the largest student outdoor festival in Europe.

This year, the mainstage has been booked by Hot Renault Traffic Club. The bands playing the mainstage and provisional stage times are as follows:

Get Cape.Wear Cape.Fly (pictured) 20:00

Captain 19:00

Crazy P 18:00

The Little Ones 17:15

The Films 16:30

The Smears (featuring The Glitter Kittens Burlesque dancers) 15:45

Kubichek! 15:00

Gravity Crisis 14:15

We Start Fires 13:30

Look See Proof 12:45

Primal Scream bassist Mani will also be DJing between the bands and compering the event.

There be a dance tent, too, hosted by Firefly and featuring Fergie (Radio 1), Annie Mac (Radio 1), Aquasky & MC Spyder and Caged Baby plus guests.

In addition, there will also be a drum and bass tent hosted by Detonate, featuring Friction, Fabio, Transit Mafia plus guests.

Daytime entertainment will include a bucking bronco, surfing simulator and a velcro wall. For online tickets and more information, click HERE.

Oh, and remember, this event is open to students only...
