British Sea Power too wet for America? + Brakes news!
disnews by DiS News May 4th, 2005
It's another of those 'It could only happen in America' stories... and Brakes do dates!

DiS hears that MTV America have refused to play British Sea Power's video for 'Please Stand Up' (released in the UK on May 23rd). It is apparently because the song contains the line, "wetter and wetter," and there are fears it might send the nation into a sexual frenzy!

On the other hand, it might have more to do with MTV America not playing that many music vids and BSP ain't exactly P Diddy.

In other BSP related news, Eamon Hamilton's side-project Brakes (with Tom and Alex White from The Electric Soft Parade and Marc Beatty from The Tenderfoot), will release a single 'All Night Disco Party' on June 13th and their debut album 'Give Blood' will follow on July 4th. Brakes will also be heading out on tour with poet-legend hick-hopper Buck 65...

JUNE
14 Brighton, Concorde 2
15 Bristol, The Fleece
16 Manchester, Roadhouse
17 Glasgow, King Tut’s
18 Leicester, Charlotte
19 Birmingham, Bar Academy (NOT SUPPORTING ON THIS DATE DUE TO OTHER BAND COMMITMENTS)
20 Oxford, Zodiac
21 London, Mean Fiddler

Not to be stuck at home eating stocks of Kendal mint cake, British Sea Power will also play the following shows:

MAY
24 Newcastle University - Orange Evolution festival
25 London Scala - Bud Rising with Ed Harcourt
27 London Electrowerkz - Adventures In The Beetroot Fields
