According to coldplay.com, it's due for release via Parlophone on June 6th and is preceeded by a new single 'Speed Of Sound', released May 23rd.
'X&Y' was recorded over the past year at studios in the UK and has been produced by Ken Nelson (Badly Drawn Boy, Kings Of Convenience), Danton Supple (Morrissey, Elbow) & the band.
On their website, guitarist Jonny Buckland claims "Chris's voice is amazing. Everyone is playing at the top of their game."
Coldplay have also announced support acts for the UK & Ireland dates of their European tour. Interpol will play Dublin & London on June 22nd and 28th respectively. Supergrass support on June 27th in London then Glasgow on July 1st & 2nd. In Bolton, Elbow will play the first night on July 4th with Doves booked in for the 5th. Morning Runner will play on all dates. Got that? Good.
