THE CRIBS
Three brothers from Wakefield who are ready to tear rock a new arsehole. They signed to Wichita last year and recorded their debut album at the now-famous Toerag studios. With some chemical assistance, it was completed in eight days and gloriously chaotic and full of catchy hooks - and their gigs are no exception.

THE RAKES
Following in the footsteps of fast-rising stars Bloc Party, The Rakes released their debut 7-inch single on Trash Aesthetics. As an ode to mediocre city salaries, the song was 'The Office' put to 90 seconds of music. The East Londoners have been tagged as 'Pulp meets Joy Division meets PIL down a dark alley,' which is no bad thing.

THE BOYFRIENDS
Er, a little modestly describing themselves as 'a bad Morrissey singing for a bad Joy Divison', they found the NME were a bit more complimentary in their praise, saying 'highlight of the New Cross compilation, Rip Off Your Labels, this is shimmering Smiths-pop with eloquence and bite.'

DRAT
Formed in Belfast but now living in Leeds and Manchester, Drat craft beautiful lo-fi pop which often drifts into shimmering, more sonically emotive Flaming Lips and Delgados territory. Have been known to cover 'Video Killed The Radio Star', in their own unique way.

NUN OF THE ABOVE
This innovative Surrey five-piece have a self-funded mini album under their belts. Such is their style - although their less-serious band name would suggest otherwise - they wouldn't seem out of place if they were to ever find themselves on the same bill as Radiohead and Sigur Ros...

THE COBRA
The core of The Cobra uprooted from Newcastle to London this year to seek fame and fortune and show soft Southerners how this rock'n'roll thing should be done. Thus, they are tonight's natural openers to kick the party off to a suitably raucous start.

Plus guest DJs including Barry Clor (www.clor.co.uk) and the famous Windmill BBQ.
