1. What is a podcast?
Basically an audio file containing a radio show that can be listened to at any time, paused and rewound. A more
complete description is available here.
2. Do I need an iPod to listen to it?
Oh goodness no. You can listen to DiS Radio on any computer, by copying to whatever portable media device you have,
or by making a CD and listening to it in the car, whilst you're washing up or even going for a jog!
3. Why isn't the show at CD quality?
Due to the restriction of our license, we are forbidden to encode the show about 96kbps when in Stereo, making it
48kbps in Mono, which was what the majority of the shows are encoded at.
4. I don't have and/or use iTunes - can I still set up a subscription?
Oh goodness yes! DiS recommends the following 'podcatching' software for subscribing to the DiS Radio XML feed (http://www.drownedinsound.com/radio.xml);
Windows - Juice - http://juicereceiver.sourceforge.net/index.php
Mac OS X - PlayPod - http://www.iggsoftware.com/playpod/
Linux/Unix - PeaPod - http://www.peapodpy.org/
5. I really like (song x) on the show, where can I find out more?
The tracklistings for each show are published on the news article relating to that show and are archived at www.drownedinsound.com/radio.
6. The show isn't downloading, what can I do?
Wait. This is a very rare ocurrence and will be fixed real shortly.
7. Those guys presenting the show sound really cute, would they go to dinner with me?
More than likely. In fact, yes!
