Fluorescent yay!: DiS's exclusive Kranky cloudcast
Fluorescent yay!: DiS's exclusive Kranky cloudcast
lukowski by Andrzej Lukowski October 21st, 2009

After last month's excellent Constellation Records exclusive cloudcast (listen to it here if you missed out), we've now persuaded Chicago's excellent Kranky Records to do something similar for us. Though probably most famous in the UK for being Low's one time label, Kranky's current roster features a host of dreamy psych and ambient acts, most notably (as US signatories) the mighty Deerhunter, represented here with 'Like New' from 2007's deeply eerie Fluorescent Grey EP. Away from Bradford Cox's indie stars, this is a beautifully atmospheric half hour snapshot of Kranky's current roster, and we genuinely can't recommend this enough for those who like their music Lynchian and lovely. Many thanks to Nudge's Brian Foote, who mixed it for us. Oh, and the pic is an actual white rainbow... that nature, eh? What a mental.
