What in the name of burning saxophones does 'Also Sprach Shareholder' mean?
Seriously? It just sounds like someone chose two random words from a dictionary and used them to sandwich another, completely fabricated word that means nothing.
Now though, I'm here to protest that more tracks come complete with a title and refrain that is utterly nonsensical and as such beneficial to the chrous and memorability of the song. In fact, after repeated listens to this particular nugget of saxophone-led pop joy, I'd wager that when the agenda is set to dumb indie fun, the lyrics are pointless anyway.
I wanna dance and 'Also Sprach Shareholder' caters for my whimsy and allows a line in arm-waved-like-an-elephant's-trunk madness that is sorely lacking from other tunes of its type.
This most definitely _is_ a tune and I'd heartily recommend a go.
NB: As an aside, the more clasically literate amongst you may wish to point out that 'Also sprach Zarathustra' is a Strauss composition, and that this was the direct source of the title for this single. Feel free to point that out, but no one cares.

Thus spoke shareholder, I think
And as a meta-pedant - Strauss took it from Nietzsche's book.
Not even I care about that.
and nietzsche is
referenced in 'ifwhiteamerica...' on The Holy Bible..."zarathustra the first to masterbate, the world's first taste of crucified grace", if memory serves.
no points for me.
this song is excellent.
Actually ...
... the Manics lyrics is "Zapruder the first to masturbate", a reference to the Zapruder footage of JFK's shooting.
Pedantry makes me feel all toasty in my toes.
Low Miff.
Surely a reference to the Brasseye 'Mad' Frankie Fraser interview?
curses
i'm going to have to listen to that song when i get home...
no bad thing, it's fantastic.
and it turns out i was right to award myself no points. the universe is in balance once again
Equilibrium ...
... also inspires toasty-warmth.
I too will be listening to the Holy Bible again tonight. It's been far too long.
Cool. Groovy. Morning. Fine.
have a biscuit
but yes: thus spoke the shareholder
Ahura Mazda
must be gutted that Zoroaster gets all the press...
