So that's that: the shining pole star of the pop-punk sky, before Green Day's reemergence as a commercial force anyway, dulled, decayed and dead to the record stores. Well, almost, as 'Not Now' is a new (read: old but previously unreleased as a single) track aimed at promoting the just-in-time-for-Christmas best-of compilation. What's it like? You need it spelt out? Okay.
P-O-P-space-P-U-N-K.
It does precisely what it says on the multi-tattooed tin: a few lyrics about girls, some crisp guitars and a slight snarl in the vocal delivery. 'Not Now' comes backed by 'Dammit'; if you've never heard it, then you've not listened to rock music for ten years and you've only heard of MTV because you overheard those skateboarding kids, that loiter so Daily Mail dangerously outside the local shops, talking about it the other week.
For a good few million people, this was growing up.

dammit ?
its really being released as part of this single even thought its been on an album, a single itself and the best of ?
i know its (arguably) their best song but thats just overkill
Dammit
is my favourite pop-punk song EVER. Blink 182 were ace. Son of Shite are no replacement let me tell you.
I like Blink 182 as a singles band
Stylus got it spot on with their review of the singles collection (although it created a bit of a shitstorm in their "comments" section).
Dammit is a 10/10 song
I am RIGHT!
:-)
