Is it wailing Mansun-esque indie rock? Is it a juddering nu-rock assault? Or merely a mismatched hotch potch of both?
Nothing inherently wrong with 'A Pearl Necklace For Her Majesty', but it's a song about as subtle as the fnar fnar title suggests. "_Blessed are the royal favourites_" snarls singer Stuart Jones in a raging rage against the monarchy. Hang on, aren't we doing Iraq this year?
I am of course being slightly trite: Colour Of Fire will draw their niches fans in that Mansun/Placebo/Manics vein, and very well done to them. But is it unfair to demand more?

Odd choice of single methinks.
Re: Colour of Fire - A Pearl Necklace For Her Majesty
Odd choice indeed !
One year ago they were a band to watch, now after a european show with Placebo they just seem like another MTV friendly band.
What a shame.
Album isn't bad but certainly not what they hinted after first EP !

youre all crazy!
I really like this single, but its not half as good as the rest of the album, which is absolute genius by the way! Theyre one of the best new bands ive heard in a long long time, i love these guys. And as they said, i just dont think you get it

"The Company Won't Colour Me"... Innnncredible song... havn't got around to buying the album though, heard it's fair average...

I'm in the same boat. Loved "The Company Won't Colour Me", but most of what else I've heard wasn't as good, I don't think.
Re: Colour of Fire - A Pearl Necklace For Her Majesty
They're going to be another of those bands who tease and frustrate you with some fucking awesome songs, then surround them with filler and chaff... eee, the bastards.
Colour of Fire - A Pearl Necklace For Her Majesty
i quite liked this, but robot rock, company, the exile and 9 votler are awesoem tracks. Pearl necklace is good, but you can't keep playing it over and over.
Colour of Fire - A Pearl Necklace For Her Majesty
nah i dont think theres any fillers on there like, exile is amazing, really amazing as is company wont colour me, robot rock is brilliant, couple of reasons as well. Also cut it and decisions too. All of them, ive never liked a new band this much for years, i had to listen to the album a couple of times before i really got into it, but now i never take it out of my cd player! genius

Gareth, you are a tit. The song is quite clearly sod all about the monarchy and the day Colour of Fire even attempt to go all policitical is the day I stop squeaking with glee at everything fabulous in the world.
I fucking love this band. I saw them on Monday, feeling admittedly somewhat let down with the shiny surface and lack of raw energy on the album, and they renewed the faith. Oh yes. LOVE.
