"You’ve been my guide for so long/I’m not wrapped in mystery/I’m just sad"
Not melancholy. Not happy. Just beautiful.
Hut's angelic vocals slide over the patter of an acoustic guitar. Think Flaming Lips holding hands with Mercury Rev and you are almost there. You get the feeling that Hut could turn any song into a lullaby. Gorgeous cannot even describe the sound.
'Scarlet' is not a song that is going to change your life; nor is it going to set your heart racing with excitement. It's more like the hug you need after a tough day. Sublime.
