What is it with these epic Britrock bands? They all seem to make one half-decent album with a couple of pretty strong singles, then wake up one day and decide that it would be a good idea to ‘go all experimental, maaan’. This never works. Just mention Puressence, Geneva, Longpigs or Marion to anyone and the best answer you’ll get is, “Oh yeah, weren’t they big in 1997?”
Obviously Haven’s idea of experimentation is limited, basically involving replacing their 52-piece orchestra-styley over-production of old with a new electronic-styley over-production. Needless to say, the song is horrid and lacks any kind of tune. Presumably their record label already knows it’s shite, hence why they’re releasing it as an EP rather than a single. At least the charts will be safe from this guff.
