To say this album is a long time coming would be an understatement. Anyone at Truck last year who saw their intense (if shortened) set might have seen the posters proudly stating the album would be in the shops October 2004. Well, after several more delays it is in my hands, ready to hit the streets and was thankfully worth the wait.

There is no better way to start than with their anthem-to-be (finally?) 'Good Show' - with an octane-powered, spiky intro and Jamie’s entrancingly edgy vocals, this song is the band at their dynamic best.

One accusation levelled at the band was that they could be perceived as something of a 'one trick pony' with little variation, however this album certainly challenges that perception. Throughout the record, the band show their gleaming multi-talented skills, jumping from moody down tuned 'tear-jerkers' ('The Sorry Suitor') Foo Fighters-skewed riffery ('Scapegoat') and all with the gleam of a freshly-shone diamond. The band's musical talents have never been in doubt, but this every track on this album is played with such an amazing urgency. A real drive to make a point, yet pulled off with effortless finesse and style.

A perfect introduction for new fans and something of a 'Best of' for the previously initiated - but a true guide to one of the best bands that Britain has to offer. Dive Dive have stated their intent in near perfect fashion, now it just comes down to a simple fact:- are there enough people willing to listen?

Dive Dive - Tilting At Windmills

ace, i might just buy it on the way home.

Dive Dive - Tilting At Windmills

hurray~ dive dive rock.

Dive Dive - Tilting At Windmills

I'm willing to listen. And I'm seeing them for the first time ever at Duckfest in a few weeks! I have their first ep and it's awesome!

Dive Dive - Tilting At Windmills

to give cd-r of the band in front of a lot of gigs is a very good publicity, and that's how I heard about dive dive in 2003, don't remember in which gig.

Dive Dive - Tilting At Windmills

got this today ... really good album
the vocals remind me of hope is important era idlewild in places, which id say was quite a good thing.

they put on a great live show too

Re: Dive Dive - Tilting At Windmills

This is Dustball, yeah?
I've still got a Dustball EP somewhere, purchased from a gig at the Railway Inn, Winchester, perhaps with Reuben?
Anyway... BYE.

Re: Dive Dive - Tilting At Windmills

i was thinking more like on 'lying's what we're here for' or even parts of good show.

anyway... thats the only part of the cd that actaully reminds me much of anyone else... hope these guys have some success

Re: Dive Dive - Tilting At Windmills

Whoops, I forgot to buy this today. One more to wait...grrrrr... Saw them live with the Koreans a couple of years ago and have been hooked since... Great live show this past Saturday in Southampton!

Dive Dive - Tilting At Windmills

well, derby's independent store doesn't stock it so i guess i'll have to wait till truck fest.

Re: Dive Dive - Tilting At Windmills

There have been a lot of complaints about people not stocking it (Oxford HMV had just 1 copy!) It is available from the band on their tour and at the numerous ffestivals they are playing. Well worth buying!!!!

Re: Dive Dive - Tilting At Windmills

Indeed it is. And Unbelievable Truth too y'know. Evidently stars of the Oxford scene.

Re: Dive Dive - Tilting At Windmills

i saw them with reuben at king tuts in april..wasn't especially impressed..found the guys voice annoyin.

Re: Dive Dive - Tilting At Windmills

Yeah the initial distribution was poor, HMV just placed a coverage order, which means most of the bigger stores only got one copy, unless an eagle eye manager spotted it and upped the order (like me, hehe)...

Re: Dive Dive - Tilting At Windmills

The drummer Nigel was in unbelieveable truth, but they still released an EP under the name Dustball after he joined (the whole of the EP is on this album though I think) I aHave this CD and it was worth the wait, great band.

Dive Dive - Tilting At Windmills

I've just seen the boys in Glasgow, gig was amazing!

Bought the album and listening to it just now. I didn't see it in Glasgow HMV or Fopp but got it off the band anyway.

FANTASTIC!

The album was produced by the great Mr. George Shilling. Check out another of his productions here:
