Bullets not-so united: London punks split

Bullet Union - London-based punks much loved by many a DiS writer, this one not excepted - have called it quits after four years as a band.

The quartet announced their separation via a MySpace bulletin, details below...

Hello friends,

After nearly four years, four tours, one hundred shows in a year, full-time jobs, a blue van called Billy, one LP and a seven-inch, a pet panda, some really good dancing, and some really good times... Bullet Union are calling it a day. Thank you to everybody that has been involved in this band in any way especially those that put our records out, recorded us, put on shows for us, let us play shows, made ace flyers, bought us pizza, drove us in the sun and rain (Bradley, Flying Frida, Tule, Sam and Val we love you!), lent us equpiment, designed us a website, bought a pink t-shirt, shared a stage with us and let us share a stage with them, stole a pink t-shirt, got drunk with us, let us sleep on their floors, play with their cats, and asked us to go on tour with them.

Thanks to everyone who has been involved in one way or another, you made doing this so much for fun for us and we are forever grateful.

XOXOX

A slideshow featuring pictures of Bullet Union 'field trips' can be seen here, and if anyone has new photographs they wish to send the band, they can do so to howdy@bulletunion.co.uk. Jealous Records has taken fresh stock of the band's much-recommended LP, Ruin's Domino (reviewed here), and their ace-o-rama seven-inch. So buy 'em if you've not got 'em already (if you have they're probably worn out, so buy them again).

On a personal note, I'd just like to say thanks to Robin, Jodie, Paul and Kaoru for some genuinely amazing performances these last few years. There are very few bands that can move me to dance - very few - but Bullet Union always managed it, and I will miss them. DiS as a whole wishes each member the best for their musical future.

The band's website is here. Their MySpace is here.

bvgger

Nooooooooo!

:(

i remember seeing them on a boat with q and not u. it was fully worth the week-long tinnitus afterwards.
R.I.P.

The Thekla?

I was at that gig too!

wahey!

still haven't quite got over it. a speaker stack in each corner of the room + three LOUD bands = my poor head.

Damn

Saw them play in a disused pub in salford last summer and they were brilliant. Without doubt the best evening I've spent in an extremely sweaty semi-derelict pub cellar.

damn shame

great band.

no no no no no no

this is fuckin shit. one the best bands ive ever had the fortune to see and also play a gig with. top guys too.

I saw this band twice...

and they were excellent both times, another good band bites the dust, ho hum...

Never heard of them

But they look cool. Oh well.

boooooooo! :(

Shite,

they were ace. I'd recommend that anyone who hasn't already tracks down a copy of 'Ruin's Domino'.

*sudden horrible realisation*

I still owe them 30 quid.

I hope that's not the reason they split up. :-o
