Coxon, Jurassic 5 and Hundred Reasons play the same day as The Darkness (Friday – Reading, Saturday – Leeds), with the ex-Blur guitarist headlining the Radio 1 Stage. The Vines play the Main Stage on White Stripes day (Saturday – Reading, Sunday – Leeds) with FFAF headlining the Radio 1 Stage, with Supergrass and The Von Bondies both playing the Radio 1 Stage (Sunday – Reading, Friday – Leeds).
We advise you to control your excitement at these shock announcements.
The Carling Weekend Reading and Leeds Festivals take place simultaneously over the bank holiday weekend of 27-29 August. Tickets are around £110 for the weekend.
DiScuss: Will you be throwing stuff at The Vines? Will they have the same hollowed out amps they are famous for ‘destroying’ on stage? Will Coxon out-retro The Darkness?

J5, obviously... you can see HR any time.
Re: More names for Carling Weekend
Also, do Reading have an aversion to good hiphop on the main stages? Was it the crowd's complete non-reaction to the Pharcyde a few years ago that did for it? Or are they relying on most of the kids there's knowledge of it not extending outside of shit djs playing "concrete schoolyard" and "jayou" endlessly at bad alternative nights in the provinces and uni towns/cities? J5 and 50 Cent, highlight of my summer! Where'd I put that 100 pounds now...
