The Auteurs: 2003 Reform Madness Continues
In a year which has seen reformation gigs/tours by the likes of Inspiral Carpets, Mock Turtles, Dexy's Midnight Runners and oodles more we've forgotten about, Luke Haines has reformed his old band, The Auteurs.
Haines, currently of Black Box Recorder fame, is set to release a retrospective of re-recorded Auteurs songs, his solo work, and three new tracks. It's out on July 21st.
To celebrate the album's release, The Auteurs will play a one-off gig at new East London/Old Street venue LSO St Lukes, on July 31st. The gig will feature a string section... Ticket are £17.
Album tracklist will be this:
How Could I Be Wrong
Showgirl
Baader Meinhof
Lenny Valentino (indie disco 'classic')
Starstruck
Satan Wants Me
Unsolved Child Murder
Junk Shop Clothes
Michael Powell
Bugger Bognor
Future Generation

Re: The Auteurs: 2003 Reform Madness Continues
Oh you do like to complain don't you.
It's an automatic photo - if there is no Auteurs photo, it'll show the next relevent thing.

It's a Sunday. The news had been up for about 2minutes when you commented, what do you expect, blood?
Can you give me a link to your website, I'd love to see how great and anally-retentively perfect it is.. cheers.

Re: The Auteurs: 2003 Reform Madness Continues
Yes he is an anally-retentive dweeb. Very much so. He has failed as a musician for years and seeks nothing but to try and belittle others. I bet he's sent his 'album' in to this site for review though.
Re: The Auteurs: 2003 Reform Madness Continues
"has failed as a musician for years"
yeah, that pile of records with my name on them really indicates a life wasted. Good one.

I sent some stuff to Adie last year - the review is here http://www.drownedinsound.com/articles/4522.html
Adie and I go along way back - every now and then we have a little snipe at one another. Bottom line is though I have a great deal of time for her and think she is a top lass. She is also pretty much the only good writer DiS has.

Re: The Auteurs: 2003 Reform Madness Continues
A pile of records still laying unsold in the shops, it seems. If they got to the shops at all. LOL!
Re: The Auteurs: 2003 Reform Madness Continues
er....what are you talking about 'JR'??
A pile of records unsold? Hmmmm, most of them are sold out. I would be surprised if anyone could get hold of the records released on Earworm that I was involved in....

Re: The Auteurs: 2003 Reform Madness Continues
I have a new book out.
Re: The Auteurs: 2003 Reform Madness Continues
I read the review...and found this funny...
"Alex Moth is unfortunately more well-known in Scottish music circles as being very opinionated on Internet messageboards. That's likely to have already damaged the reputation of his music but I'm confident that if his dismissers listened to this CD and didn't realise it was him, they'd rather enjoy it"
Shame I realise it's you now.
Ha ha ha.

The Auteurs: 2003 Reform Madness Continues
The Auteurs are NOT playing a gig on the 31st. I'm reliably informed that only Luke will be there and that no other member of the band will be there. The band are not reforming full stop.

Who is your 'reliable' source? As it's now been quite widely reported round the media that this gig is happening.
Re: The Auteurs: 2003 Reform Madness Continues
Well I'm obviously not naming names. I didn't say the gig wasn't happening, just that the Auteurs won't be playing at it. It's a Haines show, not an Auteurs show.
There's talk of the Auteurs reforming for the gig. They're not. That's all.
