Domino's 'liability' band are not splitting and announce another tour and single
Despite siginificantly less-than-rave reviews of their current sold-out headline tour and a seeming hatred of their own music, East London spazz-rap-metal three-piece Test Icicles are not on the verge of splitting.
Eldest of the trio, Rory is quoted as saying, "we are on a sold out UK tour then onto sold out dates in Europe and America with a new single and UK tour in April. Then maybe some festies, after that who knows, depends if anyone¹s still interested!"
The as yet undecided new single is released around the time of the following tour dates:
April
18 Glasgow Garage
19 Sunderland Manor Quay
20 Manchester Academy 2
21 Coventry Colosseum
22 London Astoria

i doubt
anyone will still be interested mate
Watching Test Icicles
is like watching a real-life episode of Nathan Barley.
they're meant to be shit
i say i'd rather see them than any other fucking arctic chief band. its all just a joke, atleast their not pretending its not
maybe people should start paying entry to their gigs
with monopoly money then?
y'know. just cos it's all a joke and that.
yeah that would be funny
monopoly money, that hilarious, just imagine it
"hey this isn't really money"
"I know...it monopoly money"
"your really funny"
"well nearly as funny as the band"
"hey thats funny too"
"thanks"
where do you get your ideas from jim davids?
your a grade joker
I wouldn't.
It's not funny, it's not big, it's not clever, it's just wank.
Yeah, its really funny!
To quote jonnaton yeah?, "idiots think its cool, clever people think its a joke, therefore also cool".
Even funnier is the blustering outrage of the people who go to their gigs and then complain furiously of 'awful sound' and the 'terrible performance'. So, what your actually saying is that you're an idiot? Have you ever read/heard anything by this band before and understood it? Clearly not. Joke's on you fuckwits! They just took your cash! A-ha-ha!
If this band gets you all hot under the cllar like a daily mail reader in waiting then you may as well wear a sign round your neck saying 'I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE JOKE'.
die etc.
"hey this isn't really a performance"
"i know..it's a fucking sham."
"you're really funny"
'meaning to be shit' is a rubbish excuse for actually just being really shit.
I think Eddie Argos
was thinking about the Test Icicles when he Formed A Band.
but then consider a second
that on record theyre really fucking brilliant, and that quite often live they frickin slay...
I
took back their album and brought Life Aquatic instead on DVD.
YUS.
They're playing the Astoria? Fucking hell...
exactly.
which just makes their shortcomings even worse by comparison.
the cardiff show was the fourth and worst time i've seen them, and i'm pretty sure they've got worse each time as their egos have inflated massively.
re: Test icicles like Nathan Barley
Scene Kid: "I think Test Icicles are like the best thing I have ever heard."
Other Kid: "Whats the second best thing?"
Scene Kid: *pause*..."Heidi."
Other Kid: "Was Heidi, a band?"
Scene Kid: "I reckon."
fishplums
not all music can be pirate sea shanties, amusing rhyming couplets and twee blazers. some is shit, and as everything is made of simulcra and intertext I think their pretty fecking funny because of it.
I'd go back to the prime time sitcom writing I can tell you have a natural talent.
a friend
of a friend told me that he knows the lads in this band, and they aren't real - they are actually taking the piss and they know they're shit. a bit like the darkness.
it was always a joke
they started off as a joke.
it just backfired when they got signed after their third gig or something.
then had to follow it up with a bunch of songs and tours.
jokes on them too.
