Sheffield Barfly Flees Flogged Facilities
Barfly Sheffield reopens in a new venue this week - just days after being evicted from the National Centre for Popular Music.
Club.Zero will become the home for one of the city’s most successful live music clubs as of Tuesday 23 July. Located on Matilda Street, the new venue is just a few hundred yards away from the NCPM on Paternoster Row
The swift relocation means no gigs are in danger of being cancelled, with all bookings set to go ahead as planned. Barfly say facilities at Club.Zero will be comparable with – and in most instances better than – the NCPM.
Despite breathing new life into the failed visitor attraction, Barfly will not be part of new plans for the NCPM. The steel building is being sold to the Yorkshire Forward development agency and converted into office space for businesses in Sheffield’s Cultural Industries Quarter.

My God, not that dump! At least the toilets at the NCPM were navigable

The Barfly must die, with all the cunts who work for Channelfly.

If I owned the NCPM, I'd chuck em out too. The Barfly staff (generally speaking here) are a bunch of snotty, stuck up, unhelpful arsewipes.
Still, it's a shame, that was a damn cool venue :(
I think DiS should buy it and make it the best venue in the whole wide world :D

Hear hear - the Barfly is a scourge, dragging London tactics (rip off all agentless bands; use scare tactics to prevent them playing any other venues; employ the idea that you're linked to London, and therefore "the industry", to make them think you're somehow doing them a favour) around places that were doing quite well without them, thankyou very much, and severely damaging the local music scenes in the process. They're the McDonalds of the music world, and we should treat them as such.
