††† (or Crosses) is the new (side-)project from Deftones frontman Chino Moreno and Shaun Lopez from infamous alt-rockers Far.

The pairs coming together sees an evolution of Chino’s nightmarish digital dreamcapes of previous side-project Team Sleep , whilst their debut EP † (available below as a free download as of today) finds the pair drifting toward Depeche Mode territory, and wandering into the blissed our summer breezes of Diamond Eyes (which was on of DiS' albums of 2010). There’s something both unnerving and uplifting about the music, but's that that lithe-yet-dominant, serpent voice, which puts you beneath its sex hex, which is, as always, utterly lush and makes this debut EP the start of something special. And if some of the Youtube snippets are anything to go by, there's something with Annie from Giant Drag waiting in the wings.
