Win: All this year's Mercury Prize nominated albums

So, the Mercury Prize happens soon. Recently the names were announced. Were there many surprises? Not a great deal, although I Am Kloot seemed to be nominated for an appreciation of their overall career. All a bit Ryan Giggs.

We, along with Barclaycard's Unwind Have Your Say campaign, are offering one lucky winner every last one of the albums which have been nominated for this year's Mercury Prize. It's a good lot of albums and to be honest, it's worth it for the Villagers, xx, Wild Beasts and Laura Marling albums alone. Perhaps less so Mumford & Sons, eh?

Anyway, you can win all of these albums:

Biffy ClyroOnly Revolutions
Corinne Bailey RaeThe Sea
Dizzee RascalTongue n' Cheek
FoalsTotal Life Forever
I Am KlootSky at Night
Kit Downes TrioGolden
Laura MarlingI Speak Because I Can
Mumford & SonsSigh No More
Paul WellerWake Up the Nation
VillagersBecoming a Jackal
Wild BeastsTwo Dancers
The xxxx

Haye Your Say is also giving fans the opportunity for fans to quiz the relevant bands at the ceremony itself, which takes place on September 7 in a manner of speaking. To be in with a chance of winning just post what question you'd like to ask any band on the night and the best answer will a) will be asked on the night and b) more importantly you'll win all of the above albums. More details about the campaign here.

Post your answer in the comment section below or via Facebook. Winners will be notified either by PM on this website or on Facebook, by me. Competition closes at Midday August 31, so be quick!

There is a question I've always wanted to ask anyone nominated for the Mercury Music Prize

So I guess you could say that this question applies to any of the artists, but at a push, I'd say it's most apt for Villagers.

Q: If you were chained to a radiator whilst dressed in baby clothes, who would you want to urinate on you, and why?

to simon neil of biffy clyro

q: do blondes have more fun?

If you want to,

You could always have a look at some of the reviews/comparisons I've been doing of the Mercury albums and Dis's own Neptune albums. I'm about halfway through. And I thought the I Am Kloot album was pretty good really.

For Wild Beasts

Dear Wild Beasts, when you were locked up in the Northern fortified county of Cumbria during your childhoods, did you always dream of winning the Mercury prize, and had you even heard of it?

To Corinne Bailey Rae...

Your fellow nominee Paul Weller recently said in an interview with The Guardian that "I wouldn't put that [songs about grief] on people. Grief's bad enough without a whole fuckin' album about it." How do you feel about this comment and was it a hard decision to write songs about your late husband?

To Dizzee Rascal...

I hear you are childhood friends with Bolton Wanderers centre-half Danny Shittu. Did his [un]fortunate surname scare you off from being pally, in case it damaged your street-cred?

Cheers

Question to ANY of the bands...

In sharp contrast to decades gone by, the biggest musical phenomena of the ‘noughties’ (2000-2010) have not been individual artists or exciting new genres, rather it’s been overshadowed by illegal downloading, the invention of the iPod and iTunes, the free music zones of YouTube, MySpace and Spotify. Anyone can be a popstar now.

How do you think that musicians will recapture the spotlight to ensure that the next decade will refocus back onto them and their talent?

To Dizzee Rascal

- you have tremendous stage presence and energy. What is your secret? I know you had a nap before performing at Reading Festival. So, is it power naps, or super strength Columbian coffee?

Foals

Bands do have quirky names - but why pick 'Foals' - is there a horse enthusiast amongst you? Just curious, what was the thinking behind it?

To Laura Marling

I liked what you did with both the Songbox and the dvd with ISBIC alot, the "buy my album see my gig" idea is wicked, creative and timeless in an age of supposedly throwaway downloads.
Who would be on you're songbox ticket, musical or not?
As a Ps, How's the feeling on your band-mates being nominated the same year as you? Just a busy table on the night maybe,
(id only thought of that when it came to asking this question)
congrats all the same.

All the same, congrats to both
