Kings Of Leon to take M83 on the road

Their ambition might be stadium-size these days, but it's nice to hear Kings Of Leon still have time for the little guys: they're taking underrated shoe-gaze knob twiddler M83 (aka Anthony Gonzalez, plus live band) on tour with them this winter. The venues? Bloody huge. We're talking Wembley and the O2 here folks. Full dates below, including some M83 headline shows. Expect a DiS mixtape from the man soon.

A new single, 'We Own The Sky', is released on December 1. It's backed by a remix from the similarly twinkly Maps plus new track 'Je Vous Hais Petites Filles' and a mix of 'Graveyard Girl' from ParkerLab. You own its parent album, Saturdays=Youth, don't you? No?! You're as mad as a bag of spanners, then.

i

didnt see this coming at all, a good but strange choice

The London dates are odd

in as much as they are 11 days apart and at different venues. To be fair though, it does give a date to North London and a date to South London - it's a big city after all!

Bloody big venues on this tour too!

oooooh

this might be quite interesting...

Another episode of

"When did Kings of leon get so big?" - last week I was shocked to hear they were #1, now I see they're playing the o2! I've clearly been wrapped in my snobbery bubble.

have to say

I was most surprised how good they were on Jools the other night, haven't heard anything by them since the first couple of singles and all of a sudden they're a texan U2! odd. Hope M83 will sound as he intended in these huge venues

Yeah

they seem to have slowly moved to the top out of nowhere. But then I remember that Youth and Young Manhood sold pretty well over here, so I guess they've always had a foothold from the start.

i really, really want to go to

the m83 scala gig but cant make it :( its a shame KOL are shit, i'd like to go to a gig at the o2 arena

This could be risky.

Full on M83 live will blow Kings of Leon out of the water. It'll be like watching two planets collide followed by 'plink plink fizzzzzz'...

i quite tempted to do the bournemouth bic gig

if their are any tickets left.
Wonder what all these new KoL fans with think of m83 though?

Bizarre

I wonder what the less cerebral KoL fans will make of M83?

my mum bought tickets for KOL for all my family

this is amazing news as i wasn't that bothered but M83 are excellent
