REVEALED: Scarlett Johansson tape

Seems everyone’s got a free set of hands to massage Scarlett Johansson’s flailing ego when it needs a rub.

Following the soft slapped applause of Scarlett’s apparent “sexual awakening” to sounds of Bowie a few weeks back, imagine our delight when we received Anywhere I Lay My Head – her collection of Tom Waits covers – yesterday. It goes some hog to be the most glorious vanity project going, and even with TV On The Radio boffin Dave Sitek and Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Nick Zinner pulling strings still manages to leave ‘I Don’t Want To Grow Up’ sounding like a lukewarm Euro-pop rendition of ‘Kumbaya’.

Here’s the video ‘tape’ to ‘Falling Down’, originally from Waits’ 1988 live record Big Time and the debut release from the ample-bosomed horse whispering thesp. Somewhere in the background you should apparently be able to make out Bowie pining away.

Anywhere I Lay My Head is out on the 20th of May through Atco/Rhino.

as someone said on another forum

its like courtney love on downers

I love Scarlett....

and want to do several different depraved sex acts with her!

it sounds like Nico

and is nowhere near as bad as the album's title track.

She's got a very

errr, distinctive voice, our Scarlett.
Overall... what, 3/10?

This video link is utter shite

takes ages to load some wanky advert then falls over

she looks so much like my ex girlfriends sister....

everytime i see her i ask, why did i pick the ugly one?!?! when i couldve been pretending to have been going out with scarlett :(

^^^^you got her number handy?

The sister that is not your ex.

Good question.

And why is Scarlett allowing such a middle-weight author to fawn all over her?

I quite like the song, but her voice is just kind of rubbish.

Conclusion: Go and buy some Tom Waits.

Erm...

I expected to be greeted with something at least interesting. The woman can't even hold a fucking choon. Granted she's REAL hot, but those vocals are piss poor. Comparisons to Courtney Love (WTF?!), at least she writes her own stuff and has a good/belting voice.

I didn't want to be that cynical about it but that video (with Salman Rushdie?!) is just awful...

it is pretty awful

shes still pretty though

She

sounds like Sinead O'Connor.

Hmm...

Annie Lennox?

....

ozzy Osbourne?

I think its really good

I wasn't prepared for how *sad this song would be....the 'indie cool' pointomoter is off the scale however...

Me too...

Not half as bad as I thought it would be. Her voice sounds pretty good.

meh

I preferred her old nose.
