Polvo, Animal Collective & more for EITS ATP
Some more acts have been confirmed for Explosions in the Sky’s ATP.
The curating post-rockers have made some interesting choices for the event, which takes place between Friday 16th and Sunday 18th of May at Butlins Holiday Centre in Minehead, Somerset.
The new sextet features Polvo, whose name also means sex in Spanish slang and who have just agreed to play their first show in ten years.
In full:
Polvo
Animal Collective
A Hawk and a Hacksaw
Eluvium
Ola Podrida
Lazarus
Those confirmed previously include, as well as the hosts, Broken Social Scene, Iron and Wine, Dinosaur Jr, …Trail of Dead and Adem.
Tickets cost £150 self catering; £140 for room only, both for all three nights – get them here.

polovo are ace but
who are Lazarus? last year there was a glut of Lazarus bands in London, I counted 4 and those poor boys Lazarus Clamp have been at it since 1993 only to have a load of bumhead indie tubes steal their name.
Long live Lazarus Clamp! their 5th LP is ace by the way

WHAT HE SAID
...
Lazarus began in 2001 as Trevor Montgomery's post-Tarentel solo project, a pilgrimage of either insanity or freedom - or both. 'Songs For an Unborn Sun' was his first release, a minimal and soulful collaboration with longtime friend Marty Anderson (Okay, Dilute).
His second release, 'Like Trees We Grow up to be Satellites (The Backwards America)', punched through the whispering darkness into an orchestral declaration of strength, political upheaval, and hope. Recorded by Scott Solter (Okkervil River, The Mountain Goats), it was a playful and rich approach at expressing both failures and fortunes of life. Lazarus has now grown into a small ensemble, featuring Sacramento natives Kathryn Sechrist and Kelly Nyland, exloring overwhelmingly beautiful depths with dense layers of drums, keyboards, acoustic and electric guitars, glockenspiel, and Trevor's shamanistic, gospel-inspired vocals.
Lazarus has become a brilliant, soulful, psychedelic experience of experimental and political grace. At last, this pilgrimage has found a solid road to freedom.
