RIP: Capdown split

- Capdown »
Ska-punk quintet Capdown have split after ten years together as a band.
The Milton Keynes act have released three studio albums and countless EPs over the last decade, growing into their role as stalwarts of the UK's DIY punk scene.
A statement on their MySpace page reads:
"We are now formally announcing that the band will not be continuing to work together as Capdown after the October 2007 tour.
"After completing our last, and best, album in 2007, we have all decided that we want to explore other experiences in life, outside the band unit.
"If you click our official site link, you'll find an archive [of] some of the stuff the band achieved over the years, from way back in 1997, up to 2007. We've tried to put up some stuff that you may not have heard or seen before, as a big thankyou to those who followed the band over the years. Hope you enjoy it .....
Jake, Keith, Tim, Robin, Eddie..."
The band will release limited edition 7" and download single 'No Matter What' on the 5th of November; a track taken from this year's 'Wind-Up Toys' longplayer on Fierce Panda.
They have also plotted a farewell tour, finishing up with a homecoming gig in Milton Keynes on the 9th of November:

About time too.
Evil band.
:(
superb punk band. RIP.
awesome band
they'll be missed, but at the same time it's probably a good time for them to leave with dignity.
Seemed as if they had the biggest crowd of the weekend in the punk tent at Reading.
Assumed they'd already split
Ska Wars will always remind me of good times though :)
I always preferred
King Prawn.
i saw them in 2002
i enjoyed their set massively
^
WORST BAND EVER
I also thought Capdown had split ages ago.
are Spunge still going?
I hope not - they're terrible!
Madness
Best bassist ever.
yes, Spunge are still together.
One of the guitarists left recently.
Hang on...
Weren't we talking about King Prawn?
Bitches and Nike Shoes
is fucking awesome.
That is all.
:)
Day In Day Out was a tune.
capdown
were great live, until they lost their ska-ness recently. bit boring on record though.
and yesh, spunge are GASH
the tshirt I bought at 17 at a king prawn gig..
still fits me really well now.
Odd.
Baba luck was ace. While most of ska punk was that bad ska/metal shite (saying that no comply had a great last album) some of it was ace. Ye wiles anyone?
Please,
please let that be a ska-punk cover of boyzone
Thank God.
Now they cant play Leedsfest AGAIN next year. I hate new-age punk/ska.
their last album their 'best' ???????
don't think so, they got progressively worse as they went on. No real loss Lightyear were always way better!!
Bristol has
a IIIrd Academy!? where?
