5 years of hell-raising, triumphant tours (including stints with Pearl Jam, At The Drive-in and Modest Mouse) and the release of four albums on Seattle, Washington's Sub Pop Records, The Murder City Devils have come to a crossroads.
After the no-show at this years Reading Festival keyboardist Leslie Hardy has departed, leaving the band with the feeling it cannot continue playing the songs she helped write and perform. The US tour, in support of their new EP 'Thelema', will go on as scheduled in October with replacement keyboardist Nick DeWitt. Other dates, including a Sept 28th festival date in Spain, will also go on as scheduled.
After these shows are completed, bassist Derek Fudesco will leave the band to concentrate on his new band, Pretty Girls Make Graves.
The Murder City Devils' remaining members: Nate Manny, Coady Willis, Dann Gallucci, Spencer Moody and Gabe the Roadie will continue under a different name, though all the details have not been decided upon at this time. Therefore, the forthcoming dates will be fans' last chance to see The Murder City Devils as we know them.
