Buck 65 doing another spoken word set
So, so the highlight of last year.
So, so happy he's doing it again.
Bit of a
letdown.
.
So is Truck more of a social meet up, having-a-laugh-in-tents kind of weekend, rather than a seeing lots of good bands kind of one?
Thats the impression I get as someone who's never been to it before.
hmmmm
this looks pretty naff on first glance.
Emma Pollock and Josh Pearson are clear highlights but I am largely disappointed by this.
Still, it's a chance to discover lots of great new artists isn't it so I will stop my whining immediately.
not really
why do you think that?
thats the thing
i just havent seen the majority, i'm sure there will be enough good stuff. and there are a fair few people i love, and then there's a tiny possibility that garth hudson will live up to the legend. tiny.
.
Just the impression I get from reading threads about how much people have enjoyed it/cant wait for the next one.
Then seeing who is actually playing, it seems quite..pedestrian (perhaps thats the wrong word) in comparison to the aforementioned peoples tastes. So it follows that its more about the drinking/having fun in a field with your friends kind of vibe (which is totally fine, dont get me wrong on that)
Like I say, its just the impression that I've got over time.
I see what you mean
I've only been once before and it seemed a normal kind of festival vibe to me.
I would say there were no more idiots there just for the beer than any other festival I've been to.
when has the lineup ever been incredible?
looks perfectly fine to me
I cried
when I noticed Chris McMaths name wasn't there.
His performance last year surely warrants an immediate inclusion on the bill again this year!!
Tickets
I really really really really really REALLY wanted to go to Truck this year. After going 6 years in a row, I missed last year's because of the clash with Benicassim. But it sold out before I got tickets. And now the lineup's been announced, I'm even more gutted.
Anyone know of two spare tickets available?
check the festival board
I think some warrior might be selling a pair
TEAM DIS
How many bands have DiSsers in them I wonder.
this is really worrying me also
it seems insane for him not to play. There's nothing about it on his website. Odd.
Is that Thom Yorke's brother?
Andy Yorke that is, Unbelievable Truth chap
,,,,so,
Fopp is shit, Truck is shit.....
Is there anything you do like?
You live in Portsmouth so I guess you think that not living somewhere decent is shit too.
For a second I read "Clipz" as "Clipse"
which was a real WTF moment
Yeah but no but yeah but no but there was this thing right....
...when you state your opinion that two things that are generally considered to be awesome (Fopp and Truck) are 'shit' with no other explanation or accompanying rationale given you have to wonder.
Or is kneejerk negativity the new black?
i am massively looking foreward to this
BJM! Buck 65, Josh T Pearson, iLiKETRAiNS, Stornoway, Frank Turner, Youthmovies, Future of the Left, Keyboard Choir, Winnebago Deal, Jonquil, Napoleon 3rd, Thomas Truax.
looks like an awesome lineup to me.
cant wait.
truax,
FUCK BUTTONS!, t'Trains, T Pearson, Fonda 500, Euros Childs... s'fine by me.
hmm
if you only had two stages (i thought it was a two stager?lolz) and got rid off the guff that would look a LOT better.
Saturday's GREAT!
Sunday's SHITTY!
YAY!
im looking forward to this now!
wanna see Idlewild, Brian Jonestown Massacre (?), Brakes, Buck 65, Josh T Pearson(?), Restlesslist, The Research, Frank Turner, Youthmovies, The Future of the Left, AS & AP, Gravenhurst(?), Fuck Buttons, Keyboard Choir, The Silent League(?), Nought, The Rock of Travolta, Winnebago Deal, Oppenheimer(?), A Silent Film(?), People's Revolutionary Choir(?), Metronomy, Trademark, I Was A Cub Scout, Jonquil, Napoleon IIIrd, The Epstein(?), Thomas Truax, Howard Marks
with (?)s after ones that i dont actually know, but am just a bit curious about
I'm really excited now
There's loads of good stuff here, in fact it kicks last years line up into a cocked hat.
But where is NERVOUS TESTPILOT?!?!?!?!?
this is the first gig
this year withou meet me in st louis on the bill.
what's going on? are they dead?
take some earplugs for
pearson. i'm convinced he's damaged my hearing permanently.
I just emailed Mr Testpilot
about it
Eamonn Dunphy?
Huh?
BJM?
gimme some of THAT.
and T pearson? fucken ace at ATP.
never fear...
he's definitely playing. lineup isn't complete listing yet. :)
can we have a nervous test pilot for truck petition?
it won't be truck without him :(
here's his email to me (which I hope he won't mind me reprinting)
Hi Filip,
Cheers for getting in touch!
I haven't actually been asked to play Truck this year, which is a bit
of
a shame! I'm also absolutely insanely busy trying to get new demos
together for Nu Energy (http://www.nuenergy.co.uk - I've just released
an EP with them) and I don't actually have a live set ready right now.
It's most likely that I won't be playing this year - I want to improve
my studio and take some time out from playing live generally too, but
once that's done I should be back playing again.
Thanks,
Paul
I also e-mailed Mr Testpilot...
and the response was pretty much the same.
Still he says he'll be doing live stuff soonish anyway as soon as he sorts out some things.
that's sweet
WINNEBAGO FUCKIN' DEAL. Let's get our rock well and truly ON.
And so much else I want to see as well....I'll probably be too drunk.
Glenn Tilbrook?
sweet!
I won't be there though :( Still waiting for my tent to dry from Truck 2005.
Eamonn Dunphy ???
I still can't quite get over this.
There isn't one band/person
I even want to see on this line-up
it's so shit
I sold my tickets. Get thee to Indietracks. Alright, the line-up is even more obscure than Truck, but it has STEAM TRAINS.
