Washington DC's The Apes will release their first LP later this year.
Their first European release, 'The Fugue in the Fog', will be released on the Frenchkiss label, which is partly owned by Syd from Les Savy Fav.
Although their band page is under construction, they have two MP3s from the upcoming album, available from MP3.com. 'Blood & Light' is described as "This is what we're about. Heavy rock. Backwards masking. Distorted vocals." and they say this "It's short. It's faster than usual for the Apes. But no less rocking." about 'The Burning Land'
Meanwhile the Brooklyn boys, Les Say Fav return with 'Go Forth' on the 24th September, the album will be released on Southern Records. According to the press release "'Go Forth' is Les Savy Fav's most tune-filled album to date, but it retains Tim's eccentric lyrical stance and the musical inventiveness which is part of their trademark sound. Les Savy Fav will be touring in October." sounds good to me. The tour will begin and end in London and stop for nights in Brighton, Bristol, Manchester, Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow and Leeds
