Certain corners of the DiS world have been shaken to their foundations with the news that Irish oddball popsters Sultans Of Ping have reformed for several gigs.
The band - best known for their cult classic 'Where's Me Jumper?' - are to play a few gigs over Christmas in their native Ireland; as yet, no UK dates have been announced. News is sketchy at best at the moment we admit, but below is proof that the band are back together and gigging!

There was a gig played in February in leigh on Sea under the name 'Sultans of Ping' whose line up was described as follows :-
"the band" being Niall, Warren, someone from Jamiroquai and someone else. They did use the Sultans of Ping name and the set consisted wholly of Sultans songs."

Morty lives in Stockholm, Niall is in north London, the others are in Ireland I guess. Morty was the one who put the reunion/tour together.

Very unlikely that there will be new recordings. However there may be more shows next year, although more likely outside the UK/Ireland. From memory there are 2 Cork shows, 1 in Dublin and 1 in Belfast. They are selling really well. Jimbob (ex Carter USM) is supporting in Dublin (as you can see from the ticket) and Belfast. The other band, Rulers of the Planet, are quite sultanesque too.
