Josh T Pearson: Tour to Experience

Lift to Experience are a band whose debut LP 'The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads' means an immense amount to a select few. The band are currently on something of a hiatus (possibly eternally) following a series of arguments and tragic events.

The driving force behind ...Experience, one Josh T Pearson has been working on solo material for a little while now and will be landing in the UK with his acoustic guitar this September.

The dates are on a joint-headlining basis with Bella Union's Bikini Atoll and the Archie Bronson Outfit.

September
8 GLASGOW King Tuts (with BIKINI ATOLL)
9 EDINBURGH The Venue (with BIKINI ATOLL)
10 ABERDEEN Tunnels (with BIKINI ATOLL)
11 HULL Adelphi (with BIKINI ATOLL)
13 YORK Fibbers (with ARCHIE BRONSON OUTFIT)
14 NEWCASTLE Cluny (with ARCHIE BRONSON OUTFIT)
16 MANCHESTER Bierkeller (with ARCHIE BRONSON OUTFIT)
18 NOTTINGHAM Social (with ARCHIE BRONSON OUTFIT and BIKINI ATOLL)
19 LEICESTER Charlotte (with ARCHIE BRONSON OUTFIT)
20 BRISTOL Fleece (with ARCHIE BRONSON OUTFIT)
22 SALISBURY Old Ale House (with ARCHIE BRONSON OUTFIT)

Mr. Pearson has stated that the shows could be a precursor to a possible solo LP early in 2006. Nice.

Re: Josh T Pearson: Tour to Experience

A brilliant band.

I didn't know about tragedies but did wonder what had happened to the follow-up album, as when i caught a few words with tall Josh (not cuddly Josh) a while back, it seemed like everything was set out and planned for the newy. Glad he's still kickin shit tho. Highly charismatic geezer.

Amazing news. I always listened to the (fantastic) album with an air of sadness because I thought they'd never do anything else - not any more! I'm going to get home from work, stick it on and dance around like a loon. Time for a trip to Bristol...

Re: Josh T Pearson: Tour to Experience

There was a revealing and quite upsetting interview with JTP in Loose Lips Sink Ships last year... I can't quote it or anything but it seemed he'd had more than his fair share of psychological demons, scrapped recordings and then fallen out with both the other guys. There were some family bereavements that hit hard in the ranks too, I think. Anyway, good to see he's up and about again - the two occasions I saw Lift To Experience in Cardiff were really powerful stuff.

Josh T Pearson: Tour to Experience

This is a guy who has limitless ability as a songwriter, guitar player, and singer. He can basically do whatever he wants. No one in the UK can afford to miss this. If I lived in the UK, I would go to as many dates as my job and my stamina would allow.

Re: Josh T Pearson: Tour to Experience

Wow, good to see Josh back again. Was gutted when LTE split. But they had their problems. I also read that Loose Lips Sink Ships article. It went something like this:

The bass player's wife died whilst they were away on tour, so they took some time off. They reformed, only briefly, then Josh T Pearson sacked the drummer Andy. He sent him a boot through the post! Which Andy later sold on ebay for $210. "The Bear" (bassist) then sold his guitar on ebay for $800! (I saw it listed but couldn't afford it!) They must've been pretty stuck for cash.

Josh then retreated to live in a shack out in the middle of the desert somewhere. He was pretty screwed up.

Good to see he's pulled it together again.

Looking forward to the Nottingham gig.

Josh T Pearson: Tour to Experience

The Lift to Experience album is one of a handful of "truly amazing" records released in the past five years.

I've been waiting for John Pearson to raise his head again - and will definitely be at the London gig.
