The Tribe will not be gathering

This year’s Tribal Gathering has been cancelled.

The charity event was due to take place at Luton Hoo this Saturday, returning to the festival diary after 8 years away and donating all profits to the humanitarian crisis in the Sudan, but following the incidents in London the organisers have released this statement:

“Early this year, Playing Alive, with the help of Tribal Gathering, set out to arrange a large dance event in aid of saving lives in Sudan. Unfortunately with certain recent incidents, this event, scheduled for July 16th will now not be able to go ahead.

”Following recent events in London, huge security measures were going to have to be put into action, which would have put an even greater financial burden on the event. It is with this in mind that playing alive are forced to cancel the event.”

The line-up had been due to star Groove Armada with their only 2005 festival appearance. Also featured on the bill were Audio Bullies, Krafty Kuts, Francois K and Bez.

According to the official website, www.tribalgathering.co.uk, any tickets can be either exchanged for 2 tickets for the Tribal Gathering Warehouse Party in Manchester on the August Bank Holiday or returned for a full refund.

If people hang on to their ticket after being refunded they can take it along to the Sunday 24th Lovebox event at Victoria Park London and get in for the reduced price of £20 half of which will be passed back to the Playing Alive Foundation.
