Genesis to tour next year

Prog-rockers of your dad's youth Genesis are to reform next year, albeit without original singer Peter Gabriel. Which isn't all that surprising, really.
Rumours of the reformation have been circulating for many a year, but now reports suggest it is definitely on: The Sunday Mirror yesterday stated that drummer and vocalist Phil Collins is particularly keen to get things moving.
Collins will be joined by both Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks for a series of gigs across America and Europe; expect their pockets to be bulging with hard cash come its conclusion. Gabriel hasn't totally ruled out joining his former bandmates, either, although he won't be able to play with them again until 2008 at the earliest.
Collins recently split from his third wife, and the aforementioned tabloid implies that this comprised something of a catalyst in the decision to go ahead with the reunion tour.
Amazing
I await the usual Phil Collins slagging session to start.
I don't care and I will see them if they hit the UK.....70's and early 80's era Gensis if brilliant......always on in the house as a kid and for that I love 'em
its
just the best early christmas present i could have
groupies
tour cash wsill replace what he spends on the divorce then!
and its gets the pug faced twat back out there amongst the 'ladies'
i can just imagine what their groupies are like..
eurgh!
What About Steve Hackett?
They really went down hill once he'd left. Not listened to them since I was 15
Well Jezzer
the Hackett stuff is damn good (Wind And Wuthering for example).....check out The Trick Of The Tail, And Then There Were Three for example....I listen to one of their early albums at least once a week.
What odds on them being
At Glastonbury next year then?
Without Gabriel, who the fuck cares about Genesis?!
Well...?!?
Their albums went completely downhill when Gabriel left (bar "Trick of the Tail".
I do waterwings!
I don't think you can discount, Wind And Wuthering, And Then There Were Three, Duke, Abacab, Mama...although that's my personal opinion.
Eurgh!
Compared to Trespass, Foxtrot, Selling England...?!?
Personally, there's a notable decline in quality; not just because they went 'pop' instead of 'prog', but the actual songwriting in their later albums pales in every way, shape and form to their earlier work.
Wind and Wuthering MAY be an exception, although I've not heard it. But their decline was even apparent in Trick...
hmmm
collins only wants the reunion to happen because he can't get any more roles as a train robber.
they are wank.
digg this?
??
Fair enough
although I have to disagree
ah my dear,
the 'hmmm' represented my thoughts and the process therein.
the 'they are wank' represented the culmination of said thought process.
tabs
I thought Phil's tabs were knackered and he couldn't gig anymore?
