Glastonbury In Photos: Bat For Lashes
If there was an algorithm for the perfect Glastonbury artist, then Natasha Khan with her glorious electronic folk-pop swoopiness, shark-jumping fashion sense, Mazzy-Star-meets-Yeasayer lushness and ancient-India-via-the-Brooklyn-Apple-store choice of instruments go beyond perfect Glasto fodder. Her set on the Other stage was one of the highlights of the weekend... and yes, that is Charlotte Hatherley, formerly of Ash, in her band. Glastonbury In Photos: Yeah Yeah Yeahs
In her test-screen coloured American Indian head dress and Geisha-ish cape, Karen O went beyond any Alien-chic look Bjork or Ms. Moss could ever hope to bring to Glastonbury. Standing before a giant eye ball backdrop, the otherworldly Queen of alt/indie-rock yelped, writhed and curtsied to the crowd's demons. Meanwhile, Nick Zinner expelled melodious walls of technicolor noise and Dave Pajo's key taps zapped a new aesthetic into Brian Chase's utterly under-rated drumming. And the result? Well, yuhknow, it was something like the phenomenon we've come to expect from New York's finest hipster slayers. "A genuine Glastonbury moment" as Jo Whiley would say. Glastonbury In Photos: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Before Blur rolled onto the main stage of Glastonbury, Nick Cave & Co. got their filthy blues out. DiS managed to capture some of the energy and darkness-in-the-daylight that unfolded. Click here for more Glastonbury coverage and Photos.»
Glastonbury In Photos: Blur
Blur utterly stole the show at this year's Glastonbury, they were so good in fact that it seemed at one point as if viewers were going to die of a Whi-perbolic attack or at the very least Zane Lowe was going to stab Ms Whiley. You've probably seen it but if not Graham Coxon quite possibly stole the show with his distorted guitar genius, whilst Damon Albarn in his Fred Perry was more sprightly than expected, Alex James rock a cig and (a plumper than we remember) Dave Rowntree bashed away at the b-b-back. Glastonbury In Photos: Lady Gaga
We've had various requests for more shots of the highlights of Glastonbury and rest assured there are plenty more coming when our guys are back from, er, the field. For now, we hope that Lady Gaga fans will be happy to see a few more of her (surprisingly) universally praised set from Friday night. She looks a little like The Knife performing in the Thunderdome, doesn't she? You can see video of this set over on the BBC site here. For more photos and Glastonbury content click here.»
