Not technically sitting around annoying strangers on the internet
Just seen a really well paid job that I am totally qualified for in the city I have just moved to. Problem is it's working for a massive corporation and there'll probably be a crappy dress code and I'll be working for the man which I've never properly done and my soul will no longer be pure. I'm so fucking niche though that I have literally never seen a job advertised for what I am actually qaulified to do before.
Whatever that means.
Work for a company who provide a hybrid software/consultancy service for pharmaceutical and medical device companies. I'm the translator for clients who know nothing about tech and techies who know nothing about our clients' businesses.
Sometimes it feels like we're doing good by helping clients communicate more effectively with the medical community about innovative new products. But I've also come across so much in the industry that is ethically defunct.
Could really do with a title that doesn't look like waffle on my CV.
is it 'a serious profession'?
You'd be really stilly not to.
Second job - pro sleeper
that was my last job anyway, now my freelance stuff I guess falls under creative producer although place writer and tour guide and researcher all things that I regularly do. Finding a way to surmise that when someone asks what I do is pretty difficult.
or Business Systems Analyst
Google Chrome Window Resizer
I even think it could actually be quite an unpleasant job, both in terms of the working environment and in that it would probably require a certain degree of ruthlessness and cynicism, neither of which is what I get of bed in the morning for.
I'm not really motivated by money (admittedly this is easy for me to say cos my wife earns a very decent amount), so that's only a factor in that it's hard to say no to any secure job at this point in life and with the renewable industry the way it is.
The only thing that's truly tempting is the opportunity to actually get contacts, status and proper experience in the industry, as opposed to the hotch potch freestyle nature I've been doing things up until now, which I can then put to use in the creative and ethical way I want to 3 or 4 years down the line.
I'll definitely apply for it and see what happens. Hopefully I just won't get it!
but I'm not part of the make up industry, i just make up data.
I don't have a gavel though
That's the only thing I'm making money off atm anyway
