Big mouth strikes again
"Even with the recent story about the nurse killing herself in King Edward Hospital, there's no blame placed on Kate Middleton, who was in the hospital as far as I could see for absolutely no reason. She feels no shame about the death of this woman, she's saying nothing about the death of this poor woman. The arrogance of the British royals is staggering, absolutely staggering. And why it's allowed to be I really don't know... It wasn't because of two DJs in Australia that this woman took her own life, it was the pressure around her."
Wow. That was an angle on it I hadn't even thought existed.
Total quimpigeon.

I was wondering
if Kate Middleton was hospitalised due to her morning sickness genuinely being that severe or because she's part of the Royal family so it's just due to over-reacting.
Guess we will never know. -
I had actually wondered why they'd not made a statement.
But then I decided that they'd probably made the call that it wasn't needed and that they'd not add anything to the clusterfuck that was positive.
-
I hate the monarchy possibly more than the quiffmeister himself
but I don't blame them. The media - perhaps. The hospital - most probably. The royals? No.
Although you could argue if we got rid of the royals years ago it wouldn't have happened in the first place.
Anyone got straws I can grasp onto?

the one angle i haven't seen anywhere that i thought was fairly crucial is that
they were prank calling a hospital
-
I reckon she probably just wanted the worlds press to be on her back
as early as possible, in fact ahead of her twelve week scan (a point in my life of quite staggering stress, and the press don't give a shit about me) so went in to ensure the press started digging as quickly as possible.
Ludicrous.
thewarn this'd this -
I understand what you're saying
but it could be possible the family got in a flap about her being sick and made sure she was hospitalised just in case anything were to go wrong because she's carrying an heir rather than her being so severely ill that she HAD to be hospitalised.
Or perhaps she genuinely is that sick, in which case that's awful and unfortunate. -
This is where the DJs blame/guilt lies fo sho
That it was 'impossible to foresee' negative consequences isn't quite right, as causing a disruption to care in a hospital always has potential negative effects.
It's illegal to prank call emergency services for that reason, and it should be to prank call hospitals. Don't think they are murderers or anything though, obvs.

That's a good point
Never really thought of it like that before.
kostenurky and rainmaker this'd this -
Is completely normal
for pregnant women to get so sick that they have to go into hospital. There is no way they would have done it for fun as they knew the press would get wind of it, and that was a shit storm they didn't want, particularly so early when anything could happen.
And oh how the press would love that.
deadonthestairs this'd this -
they're not the sodding tudors
i imagine they care slightly more about the baby itself rather than their dynasty. (hopefully).
-
I know women are sometimes hospitalised due to morning sickness, though it's not a particularly regular occurrence
I don't think they would have done it for "fun" but, ah fuck it. I'm done with this debate.
-
hmm, obviously use of the word "heir" has made my point come across wrong
I didn't mean it as though they care only because it's an heir to the throne but more because the baby is a part of the Royal family and they're scared of anything happening to the child so they're being extra cautious.
-
like, prank a bar, a shop, a takeaway, fine, don't care
but regardless of whether there's a royal in a hospital or not, just leave them to do their job. it hasn't even been mentioned because everyone's trying to focus so hard on not blaming them for something they couldn't see coming. they did however do something that they should be shamed for, it's just not the thing that everyone thinks it is

Dear Morrissey
I too share your intense frustration at the way Kate Middleton is reinvigorating a dying brand that merits no place in an evolved society.
That doesn't make your bizarre opinion right.Pretty much anyone who has ever liked any of your music ever is increasingly fed-up at your efforts to grow old disgracefully. You are not cementing your place as a legend but actually making your music unlistenable.
Buy an island off the coast of Vietnam, rant at sheep in some corner of the Republic of Ireland, get a mental health check free on the NHS, or quite simply take up knitting. In the meantime, retire from public view. Now. Please.
Yours

Morrissey's great and you're a dick.
You're just latching onto those big, accusatory words leaping off the page and swimming in the air in front of you. BLAME! SHAME! ARROGANCE! Totally missing the point.
Do you honestly think there would have been this kind of hoo-hah if they'd managed to wangle, say, Paul Daniels' medical records from the hospital? The NHS, and this woman in particular, would have been pilloried for this, not least because it's just OUR PRINCESS NATIONAL TREASURE SWEETIE PUMPKIN she'd wronged. Would've given the Tories a great excuse to ravage the NHS some more. Wake up.

They're releasing another Smiths boxed set?
Seems a bit soon.
-
it wouldn't surprise me
but i haven't seen it
-
Dear Morrissey,
If in the likely event you are reading, disregard everything said above.
The only sad thing about this is how most of the controversy in the music world at the moment seems to be coming for a fifty-year old man. NO-ONE ELSE IS SAYING ANYTHING.
True to you,
