Thursday Morning Frostbite Thread
Actually, I quite like the cold. I don't like it wet though (UNLIKE YOUR MUM).
How are you all? I'm feeling pretty good, had the Triple Cheesemas burger from Byron last night and it was absolutely fantastic.
-
G'morning
feeling pretty alright following an immensely stressful few days relating to band stuff/existential crisis. I've been trying to come off SSRI's at the worst possible time and without medical advice so I suppose I was asking for it. Anyway, I'm back on them and feeling better for it.
My brother got a letter saying his disability allowance is going to be reassessed, despite less than a year ago being told that he's entitled to a lifetime allowance owing to the fact that there is no cure and it'll probably get worse. Yeah, that's pretty shit for him.
-
I'm ill and weak
so sacked off the gym last night and sat in bed with a facemask on then fell asleep.
Tonight I have a hot date with msmonipenni to Winter Wonderland <3 Can't wait.

feels like a friday today!
one of my colleagues is in a production of twelfth night so we're going out later. very civilised.
subquestion: industrial strength fan heating on trains: yay/nay?
-
Porridge & coffee
Work til 3pm.
Jools Holland at Nottingham tonight. -
nay
They're incapable of maintaining a comfortable temperature and leave me feeling really groggy.
-
went to see red fang last night, they were pretty good.
not too happy about this morning starting. grumble.
-
i'd go with nay too
they make me feel dehydrated. plus it's a faff having to take off / put on layers.
-
Its not even that cold you wufters
Get a grip. SMASHED a tomb kings army into the ground. Made him cry tears of undead after tabling him. My heroic killing blow lord SLAUGHTERED his way through two war sphinxes. Going to put together my limited edition Hobbit set tonight. Looks nice. The scenery looks ace.
-
Couldn't feel my face at the bus stop this morning.
Holloway was covered in ice. COLD.
Can I just throw out there, that I think these 'your mum' jokes are the substance of this forum. Never let them go.
-
That's OK
Dress sense is the first casualty of cold weather
-
forecast says 5C for London today
can't remember the last time it was that warm up here. Southern pansies.
-
do you actually play warhammer?
I always thought it was just a running joke
deadonthestairs this'd this -
it's more the fact my ridiculous hat and gloves don't look like they should be on a 27 year old lady wearing a skirt
and also that they look like the kind of hat and gloves hobos would wear.
-
We'd be bringing out the BBQ for 5C!
Oh the heady days of July, eh?
japes this'd this -
In between sexing chicks and taking drugs
I fill my spare time battling the darkness in the warhammer world, yes.
-
I threw out a substance onto your mum last night
But it wasn't ice cold.
Ichor this'd this -
I woke in a foul mood. Took the dog for a walk, then jumped into bed with my lady and the puppy and snuggled up.
This mean i was later for work than i intended but it cleared my mood right up. I have now bought 1/3 of her present, and will get the other 2/3s in the next week. This is exciting me.
-
:D
Bet they are warm though! I don't own a hat because I look ridiculous - my head's too big. Not ideal when I walk my lad to school: my ears look like frozen lamb cutlets
-
Gaming hub?
Nah, Not into mainstream gaming venues. Go to a club at an old RAF club
-
found out my way too big for me
parka last night. SO TOASTY THOUGH.
My friday today as it's girl pants' birthday tomorrow, so will be taking her for a meal and whatnot, then saturday's four years since my son was stillborn. :( -
It is.
But last night my bedroom was so cold I could see my own breath, so I doubt it'll be much colder than what I'm used to.
-
In a doctors waiting room waiting to get some jabs
Bit worried I might pass out again. Any tips?
-
MAN UP SMEE

just got to work and remembered i'm supposed to be at a training day.
hmm. not sure what the protocol is here.
-
What are you getting done?
Some are worse that others. I think it was hep A which made me faint a few months ago. The nurse was SO NICE that I wrote to the health centre to tell them.
-
Yeah I think hep a was the one that got me too
Today is typhus
-
I had 4 or 5 in the end over a series of weeks
and nowt got me like hep a. My speech was all slurred afterward FFS
-
Haha
Is it not in your office then I take it?
-
TOASTY
God bless the fur snood, I didn't even feel a nip today.
I might need to go to bradford at lunchtime. I've never been to Bradford. -
Haha
The nurse said to me afterwards: don't worry it doesn't only happen to women.
-
no. it's at another company.
i've emailed the guy. no one has noticed yet. i hope we havent paid for it.
-
I'm so ill
help :(
-
I'm going to start burning things pretty rapidly depending on how bad the conditions are.
I envisage a Siberian Kamp Krusty.
-
i got that.
i meant the 'again' bit.
-
Are you still burning up?
have you taken paracetamol? Take a night nurse, down a pint of water/ rehydration salts and knock yourself out. Paracetamol, fluids and sleep is all that will work.
-
Went to Big Easy last night for a mate's birthday.
All you can eat fajitas, combining steak, chicken, and shrimp. It was fucking brilliant, and Big Easy now runs a close second behind Maggie Jones' for my favourite London restaurant.
First Christmas lunch of the season today, with another tomorrow.
FOOD.
-
Bradford < Leeds
Actually:
Bradford < most of the rest of the UK -
ok
Woah. tell me about the big easy.
Also shrimp- is that little prawns, normal sized fprawns or big prawns. I can never work ths out. -
We're a bit short on good news today
Nice one CC
-
so hungover
didn't get a chance to eat last night and got quite pissed. woke up an hour late for work and couldn't get out of bed coz it was freezing and thought i was gonna vom. GOOD START TO THE DAY.
deadonthestairs and japes this'd this -
yeah I've been taking a flu tablet that's mostly paracetamol
Latest symptom is a cough.
-
suspected as much
I doubt there will even be a curry in it for me as I need to get straight back to London for a dinner.
-
I did exactly the same
I had a packet of wotsits for my dinner in bed at 3am, while the room span menacingly at me. It was an all-you-can-drink tequila cocktail theme. I only had three! I can't handle my bevy anymore. Feel so sick. I've had a gonger biscuit for breakfast and some ginger beer. STill feeling sick.
-
gonger
<3 your spelling
:D -
It's like a Louisiana-style restaurant, about 10 mins walk from Sloane Square
The place was full of huge racks of ribs, BBQ-lavished chickens, and other American-south delights. The shrimp I'm assuming are the big ones, as the ones we had were massive!
There were many people feasting on lobsters last night. I've never had lobster. I will go there and have lobster.
Also, apparently as we leftt, Richard from Made In Chelsea walked in. The girls in our party thought that was a big deal, I have no opinion on it.
-
The snow is still here!
I might go for a walk and take some pictures and stuff before the forecast rain washes it all away. Then I need to send off job applications that I've been meaning to do for a few days. How exciting (!).
-
also
a man vommed on the tube yesterday. The passenger alarm was pressed and he was carted off. REEKING of booze and looking absolutely mortal.
-
gonger
sounds rude. Or perhaps incapacitated.
(also, I can spell! Just cannot type. I look at the keyboard and not the screen and I only look up ot hirt send.)
-
Actually slept for the first time in 4 nights last night so feeling better.
Now I have some time to make up at work as people have had it easy this week without me having any energy to be angry at them. Already called 3 people Fucking Cunting Fuckwit Cunts to their faces and one over the phone so going well so far. Also get to reunite myself with my hobby of drinking tonight as one of our suppliers is taking us out for tea.
-
was pretty ropey on the bus
been at work for like 45 mins and haven't done anything. can't even remember what my job is.
-
You must have lobster.
It's like a huge meaty langoustine. (but go to Burger and lobster for it- 20 quid and it's amazing.)
I need to go to this place! I don't know who Richard is because I don't watch that pish, but I would have probably SQUEEEed if I'd seen him anyway. -
Your job is to bring me cups of tea
You really need to get back on top of that NOW.
-
(not that you're not a man.)
oh yes.
-
shrimp and prawns are the same thing
it's just what americans call prawns
-
I didn't pass out guys
The nurse revised her pep talk to "it only happens to men really" this time

Don't touch the lobster in Big Easy
They overcook it gruesomely, so you end up chewing on the tail for hours and hours. Grim.
-
thanks for the warning
I think I'd go for the ribs and wings anyway. MAN, i love ribs and wings.

I can't feel my face
Feeling pretty chipper.
This afternoon I'm running a tutorial in something I know next to nothing about. Should be fun.
