Going back to watching football after this is gonna suck, isn't it?
Here they come again now... overpaid, whinging racists diving around all over the shop and then fucking off to Spain just as you start to not hate them.
My love of football has been on the wane for a while now but hearing that England are 3rd in the FIFA Rankings and that the new season kicked off for some teams this week actually made me feel a bit sad that it's back again already. Maybe a fuck off huge Sky campaign will change that but football seems pretty soulless, repetitive and ultimately futile after these Games, where your achievements are measured once every 4 years.
I wish there was more closure in the sport, times when you stood back and thought 'this generation is great' or 'this is a poignant moment'. World Cups no longer have that, with club football being so dominant. Champions League has lost it too.
Is there anything football could do to become great again, or do you think it makes too much money now to ever change? Or even, do you still think it is great?
Totally unrelated, someone was discussing on FiveLive today why the BBC don't have a dedicated Sports Channel showing stuff 24/7. Interesting idea, though most of the big stuff will have gone, as I like the idea of an overlong episode of TransWorld Sport being on EVERY DAY.
