Public transport gripe thread No 2 - virgin voyager trains awful toilet design
Firstly the loos are the huge ones.....you know the ones with the round rotating red door, so the space inside is very large, room enough to design the fucker properly.
Now one might ask oneself what one of the major factors in designing a public loo might be........one might answer 'hygeine'
So why have the fuckers designed it so that you cannot get a tissue out of the tissue holder, without careful teasing and without inevitable maximum contact with the very restricted space which necessitates you touching the hard surfaces around it, surfaces that other people have inevitably touched whilst in the process of wiping.
(No I was not going for No 2s, I plan so that I never need to do this on trains)
I believe that these modern trains cost shed loads to design and build, How can a modern society that is so hygeine concious and so technological and 'big on design' still produce such design mistakes.
.....yes i washed my hands afterwards......but lo, nowt to dry with, the airdryer was broke.
I remember that there have been tissue/paper dispensers that are ergonomic, so why take a step back?
See also the continual building of mens toilets where to leave the public lavatories you need to grasp hold of a handle to open the door, thus negating your washing of hands (as the posters on the walls remind you to do ......Ive taken to writing on these posters asking 'how do i now open the door without potentially getting someone elses wee/shit on my hand?'
