Question for people who know about cameras, also a consumer rights issue
A couple of months ago I bought a new camera. On Sunday, I dropped it. It now looks like this http://www.flickr.com/photos/58449996@N07/7294805970/ The lens usually went out when it was turned on and then went back in when turned off, but now it's stuck in that bent out position. I can still turn the it on to look at the photos on there, but it won't let me take a picture.
So, question for camera people - do you think it's mendable? Is the cost of having it mended likely to be huge? I think the camera cost about £90.
As for the consumer rights issue, I was wondering if there's any way I could ask the shop to replace it / have it mended. Yes, I did drop it, and yes, that was my fault, but I dropped it from my hand onto soft long grass. It can't have fallen more than 2 or 3 feet tops and onto a really squidgy surface. Surely things should be made strong enough to withstand gentle falls like that?
