Joining a table of girls when other lads are already with them
One of my most hated acts of social deviance.
Last night I was drinking in a quiet beer garden with some people from work. About 20 yards away was a table of about 8 pretty ladies and 2 lads. There was no blatant signs to suggest either of the boys were seeing the girls, but even so.
Two of my workmates decided to go and walk up to the table and ask if they could join them, with the hope of a pull.
While I greatly admire their confidence (one of them wanted to sing for the girls which he did, but he's Kongolese-Belgian, so he gets away with it) in doing so in a highly sobre situation, I also disapprove of it completely.
If the girls had been alone, then they're fair game.
But the crushing uncomfortableness it put those lads through was unbearable. One of them left completely, and the one who stayed was visibly seething - and rightly so, in my opinion. He ended up walking off and shouting "let me know when they've gone".
The way I see it is as marked territory. Don't stand on another man's toes. It's his patch isn't it? Am I right or am I right?
