NFL WEEK 11; THERE IS NO CAPTION.
Right, its Thursday, thus, week 11 is upon us. Here is your one-stop gap for predictions and previews of the weekend's action.
Thursday Night Football:
Sees the Jets at Mile High (which I swear was also the first or second Thursday night match last year). A lot of talk in this one about whether Tebow will complete more than 5 passes with Revis Island looming, but if he runs and/or gives it to Lance Ball (McGahee looks pretty much done) like against KC last week then they're in with a chance. However, all Jets/Sanchez Jokes aside, I can't really see them throwing this one even if it is in Denver, The Jets have got too much for them and barring another Tebow-miracle causing us all to re-assess our personal opinions on faith and divine right, I think Jets should be fairly comfortable in this one.
so, sunday predictions:
Cincy @ Baltimore: Should be great (as was the Cincy/Steelers last week) and its also on Sky. It should also be just as tight as that game, but I do think our homefield advantage which seems to suit Flacco so well, as well as few more bigger weapons, will give us the edge. We're also coming off an embarrassing defeat as the Steelers were last week, which doesn't bode well for Dalton & Co. either. Baltimore by 6.
Jacksonville @ Cleveland: who cares, low scoring, Jax by MJD.
Carolina @ Detroit: Detroit need this one BAD and Carolina, despite Cam's best efforts, still don't have enough. Detroit by 7.
TB @ GB: A blow-out, by at least 10-14.
Buffalo @ Miami: a wierdly important game this. If Buffalo lose then they're basically out of contention for the playoffs, and Miami are suddenly finding some pace with Matt Moore at centre. Shouldn't they be sucking for Luck though? Buffalo by 3.
Oakland @ Minnesota: Minnie will give the Raiders a game, but Palmer has proved he's not dead yet. This isn't a dead cert, (I def wouldn't bet on it) but the Raiders should get this one by 6.
Dallas @ Washington: As much as I wish it weren't the case, The Skins have returned to the guys we all know and pity. They stink. This is still an important derby match and the skins will give them a go, but injuries and other concerns (and Dallas currently blazing easier teams) means this may get a bit out of hand. Dallas by 7-10.
Later Games:
Arizona @ SF: Who can stop the Niners? They're on a total rampage right now. Though Arizona showed some hugely encouraging signs (albeit against a comically imploding Eagles) its hard to see how they'll beat a Niners, fresh off an impressive win against the Giants. WEST COAST OFFENCE. Niners by 7.
Seattle @ St. Louis: Splitting Hairs, six and half a dozen, bald guys and comb various other cliches, two underperforming teams who have found some form recently play for (divisional) pride more than anything else. I actually have no idea who's going to win this because its so inconsequential, maybe a tie given the teams.
Tennessee @ Atlanta: will also be a little odd. Atlanta have massively underwhelmed and underperformed this year, but then so has CY2K. Johnson appears to have remembered who he is last week, but Atlanta are still a far more complete team, and (at least used to be) pretty formidable in the Georgia done. Atlanta by 4-5.
San Diego @ Chicago: two teams going in opposing directions. Like the Bills/Fins game, The bolts HAVE to win this one to keep themselves on pace with the Raiders. However, Chicago's confidence will be huge after a thoroughly impressive and convincing win against Detroit, and on current form anyway, it's theirs to lose. Bears by 6.
SNL:
Eagles @ Giants: still an enjoyable rivalry but at the moment this could get embarrassing. Eagles are littered with injuries and problems, and though the Giants will be disappointed with their loss to the Niners, they still have far much more to feel encouraged about as well as being at the meadowlands. I don't quite see a complete Eagles collapse just yet, but all the same, Giants by 7.
MNF:
KC @ NE: Chiefs started well but are now without Cassell and also much hope. Patriots showed they're still a force to be reckoned with against their arch-enemies last week, and will have too much for the flailing Chiefs, particularly in Foxboro. Pats by 10+
Thoughts? expectations? aspirations?
