culinary thread for monday
this weekend I made the cheese and potato pie from the Pieminister book, it was BRILLIANT...me and Mr S ate it all in one sitting and even the boys had more than just pastry :)
then yesterday I did roast potatoes the Heston way...rinsed in running water for 5 minutes, then boiled until properly soft, then good hour in oven in hot oil BEST EVER I have always struggled a bit with roast potatoes, seem to turn out oily but these weren't at all, just really good. Did them with roasted sprouts with shallots. Great Sunday dinner.
Professional masterchef back tonight...very much looking forward to that, hope Monica is back too and cool as ever.
