A world without cash
I'm not speculating on if or when this will happen.
But imagine the impact in this country if all cash was removed from circulation and everything was dealt with via plastic.
In terms of tax-dodging (on a small scale, not through overseas accounts), it would completely stop it, right?
No more cash-in-hand. No small businesses not declaring their takings (bye bye 90% of taxi firms).
If every transaction was recorded, wouldn't it do away with the majority of shady dealings?
Obviously there would be impracticalities etc. and people would moan about it being a slippery slope to Airstrip 1 etc. but yeah, would it be mainly good or mainly bad?
