United get a deserved win over Chelsea, perhaps inevitably over-shadowed by a poor refereeing decision near the end, as games between the two sides always seem to be. The referee can be forgiven for not seeing the foul but the incident was straight in front of the 5th/6th official, who should have had the testicular fortitude to signal a foul that the referee didn't see.
Elsewhere in the game, Rooney continues his superb run of the last two months, Michael Carrick has his first great game for three years, Evra continues to slip both literally and in regards to the quality of his game, Torres dives for two penalty appeals that are rightly turned down, and almost scores with a great header, Essien takes the piss out of Rooney and kicks him about a bit and Drogba is a bit petulant. Oh, Rafael is injured again too.
In the Barca-Shaktar game the tie is closed, disappointingly, as Barca stick five past Shaktar. At 3-1 it would have been an interesting return leg, but its all but over now.
