Accents changing over time
I met someone the other day from a village in Northern Scotland and they had a really cool accent, kinda like Edinburgh meets Canadian but the people over 30 spoke completely different.
I have a friend from a town near Cardiff and her accent is like a Southern England meets California with a Welsh sing-song intonation but her parents sound like a weird cross between Sunderland and Somerset.
My grandparents live near Rochdale and the accent there has changed since 20 years ago.
How is your local accent evolving? I know the traditional London accent is changing to 'Multicultural London English' and Scouse is getting stronger but what about elsewhere?
