In the Paris Eurostar terminal last night I was standing at a food counter thing. There was a woman waiting in front of me for counter-Frog to finish making her order.
“Do you have 20 cents?”
I’d already piled out the exact change for my order on the counter using a lot of shitty little coins, so it wasn’t a question.
“Yeah, here you go”
I slid a 20 cent coin across counter top and knelt down to fish more coins out of my bag to pay for my own order.
“Great. I didn’t want to break this €20 and end up with a lot of coins” and then spun on her heels and walked off.
I have no problem tossing a bone to someone that is short on money, but to pay for some random woman who is in possession of more money than you currently have but doesn't want to mess up her purse? Some MOXY

Epilogue: Later on the train, I saw her walk back from the bar carriage holding a bag of crisps and a paper cup filled with an unidentified beverage.
I had to summon all of my class not to bare my teeth hiss like an angry cat as she waddled past
