MONDAY FOOTBALL THREAD
An INTERESTING weekend of football, i'm sure we'll all agree.
Rafa VDV continues to light up Spurs' performences with another virtuoso display against Villa. This was a game we badly needed to win, so it was encouraging to see us come out with all 3 points, especially given our ridiculous defensive injury list. Kudos to Huddlestone at CB who equipped himself admirarbly. Heskey's once-decadely(?) show of strength against bassong has apparently prompted capello to urge him out of international retirement. Lovely stuff.
The other PL game i watched was City v Newcastle. Pretty decent viewing apart from De Jong continuing with his thuggish ways (regardless of him touching the ball, that kind of tackle is beyond dangerous - he's got form in that respect too) - Ben Arfa suffers a double break as a result. The ref has a mare too, awarding city a dodgy pen (i can see how he gave it though) and then missing one of the most blatant pens you'll see all season. Newcastle were good for at least a point imo. Lols at milner starting ahead of johnson - the latter must be really pissing mancini off atm.
Carl Henry tries to kill another footballer.
Didn't see chelsea/arse; apparently arsenal dominated first half. Saw Alex's free-kick - nice.
Lols at United and especially Liverpool :'D, well done to Blackpool.
Hearts are unlucky against Rangers
Stevenage's charge to league 2 champions stalls at the hands of wycombe
Real Madrid destroy Deportivo
